I feel like releasing 52 number 1's in one month is a bad idea. It hurts the lower level titles because readers may not be able to afford so many books pushed on them over such a short period of time. Now a reader may not take a chance on a new/different character or title because they simply have no more money to spend. Number 1's seem like good places to jump on at, but if you can't afford a ticket...you can't ride.
Funny, I just did the exact same thing on my blog not knowing you did this too. Link, because I am shameless: http://www.thenewestrant.com/2011/06/i-break-down-new-dc-books.html
I agree 100%. There are a ton of books I would be picking up if they weren't all starting at once. I'd be onboard Aquaman, I'm sure I'd try Red Lanterns, and I have no doubt I'd sample Suicide Squad, but with 12 or so other titles starting, it's just too many books.
